What's the point here?

- In 2006, I returned to college to study art, no, interior design, no, journalism, no, English. Hell, why don't I just go ahead and fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming an attorney? I figured I'd have my bachelor's by the time I turned 30, but a few weeks (ok, a few months now) ago I turned 29 - and I still have a couple of years to go. This resulted in some serious introspection and soul-searching as to what I've "accomplished" so far in my life. I realized that although I'm on the right track professionally (I'll finish eventually, I swear!), I've let some of my favorite hobbies lapse and I'm completely out of shape. I'm making a few changes in my life, including preparing for a three week/one month backpacking trip on the AT in September. Except for you - whoever you are - my mom may be the only person to read this blog. If you're my mom - Hi, mom!
